Krave Jerky

Krave has taken jerky to new culinary heights by using sliced whole meats – turkey, beef and pork – and incorporating artisanal flavours like basil citrus, chipotle honey and smoky grilled teriyaki.

There’s no doubt that Krave has a delicious and wildly successful new take on healthy snacking, seizing the opportunity to disrupt the sleepy Quickie Mart snack category.
At Hatch, we took inspiration from the product itself, breaking through category constraints with premium packaging that doesn’t take itself too seriously. It’s “pork without the fork” and “more macho than trailmix” and a way to “spice up your survival kit.” Because in the end, “carnivores have more fun.”

Delhaize: Wines of the World

This is a range of wines that Belgian supermarket chain Delhaize offers within its own brand “365”, which includes simple, everyday products at affordable prices.

The cork is a sign of humility, an object of little value, often used as craft material, as a simple and easily manipulated element with which to play and create. The use of cork gives it the air of something simple, typical of an everyday product. The cap is the element that unifies and personalizes the whole range. The motif designed for each label refers to the country of origin.

Inside the box, personalized Sennheiser headphones and an individualised book are found - each covered with the original material of the famous black jersey. The rest of the book tells the story of a 12-year long partnership - building on Pride, Passion and Partnership.

Candlelight Vineyards

Candle Light Vineyards is conceptually created by Vintner that strives for perfection in his wines. They are a chemist in their own right and spend all of their lives devoted to wine—till death even. Traditionally, wine casks were lit by candle light therefore Vintner's would be doing their work constantly in Candle Light.

The wax top is a candle-like wax to again reinstate that these wines are produced under candle light. The notes envelope contains wine parings that pertain to the specific batch of wine. No batch has the same tasting notes, or food parings.

Reggae Reggae Sauce TV Ad

Hot dogs and chicken drumsticks have rarely looked as happy as they do in this new spot for Reggae Reggae Sauce, from Aardman Animations and JWT London. This is the first TV ad for the sauce, which was famously pitched by Levi Roots on UK TV show Dragon's Den, where it secured backing from Peter Jones and Richard Farleigh in 2007. The sauce has since become a huge success.

The ad uses claymation, and was crafted at Aardman Animations over three months, using 20kg of clay. The Levi Roots character alone took a dedicated team of six modelmakers four-and-a-half weeks to complete.

Butcher's Hook Make Their Mark

Three graduates sought to introduce their new studio to locals via a neat bit of window dressing, providing passers-by with unique prints – and a business card Butcher's Hook is (or perhaps that should be wil be) a three-member design studio and gallery based in an old butcher's shop in London's Portobello. The studio has been formed by Benio Urbanowicz, James Coltman, Josh Blanchett and Dan Jones, students from Kingston and LLC, all of whom graduate this summer.

The threesome have vowed to spend 10 per cent of their time working on local community projects and to this end plan to operate a 'walk-in studio' once a week, where anyone can walk in with any sized brief, "which we'll be over the moon to work on", they say. "We would like to become a design studio for people. All shapes and sizes of different people."

In order to introduce themselves to the local populace, Butcher's Hook set up a digital display using an old Nintendo Wii remote, custom made Infa-Red yellow pencils, a wireless doorbell, a printer and a few extra ingredients. As well as launching their studio, Butcher's Hook has also entered the project into the D&AD Student Awards in response to the brief Make Your Mark.

"Löffle Mich!" Cakes in Jars

'löffle mich!' means 'enjoy me with a spoon!', and is the message of a savory cake collection made in Austria. The idea was to create a cake label that puts you in good humour with its bright colours and exhilarating design.

Unlike other pre-prepared cakes, löffle mich! contains only fresh and natural ingredients and no artificial flavourings. The hand-crafted cakes are kept in glass jars to maintain the freshness of the product. A wooden spoon, fixed by the banderole, enables you to enjoy the cake immediately. There is a range of flavours available from peppermint-cherry-chocolate to chocolate-chilli, each with a funny poem on the tab.“löffle mich!” is a cheerful new way of packaging a cake – a brand that simply puts everyone in a good mood.

Student Work: Sophie Pépin

Canadian design student, Sophie Pépin, drew inspiration from the roots of the native american nomadic lifestyle for this tea packaging she calls North American Teapee. Each flavour features a native american-inspired pattern encircling the packaging that also serves as the a pull tab for opening the tea and revealing tea bags that also mimic the teepee shape.
