Jonathan Crisp Redesign

Here is a rather British redesign of gourmet snacks Jonathan Crisp. The design was recently produced by Jump To design agency. Unusually they appear not to be specialists in packaging but have none the less done an excellent job.

The previous, extremely well known and awarded design, was produced by renown design agency Ziguratts and whilst the logo remains the same the packaging itself has radically changed. In place of the the previous caricatures we now found Jonathan Crisp himself in various situations which relate to the flavour found within. Picking apples with the aid of his brolly, sitting atop a five bar gate, in a deck chair under the shade of his umbrella and posing with a butcher’s bike and apron.

This design is not as quite as jokey as the previous incarnation but it still remains light hearted, and with a sprinkling of British Charm it also adds a more refined edge to the brand. The logo stays prominent at the top of the pack but now changes colour along with the text and background to allow for a clear differenciation in flavour. Overall the packaging sits together as a whole very nicely indeed.
