Origins Of The Alphabet: How Letters Got Their Shapes

Oakland-based cartoonist Jason Novak has created an online comic that explains the origins of the alphabet and how letters got their shapes.

Called ‘Where Letters Came From’, Novak reminds us of the Egyptian, Sumerian and Phoenician representation of the modern alphabet—incorporating each letter into a quirky and clever cartoon. To see the full alphabet list, please visit ‘The Rumpus’.
