Charcoal Drawings by Yanni Floros - Girls with Headphones

Australia-based Yanni Floros has total command of the charcoal. These drawings are meticulously detailed with just the right combination of realism and artistry. Drawing hair realistically is no small feat, and these are beyond convincing, capturing beauty in the somewhat mundane details of a single moment.

Yanni's work extends across painting, sculpture and drawing, focussing on "the pursuits of man and how those pursuits impact our development." He has an interest in technology, "especially the design of things and the way they're put together," and when viewing humanity as a whole, he tries to ask what it is "about us that wants to make all this?" Technology is so engrained in our lives, he questions whether we would be able to live without it.
